This is a must read

goergia10 at Daily Kos has a fantastic article that should make any republicans blood boil. in it she(?) connects the dots that have put so many Iraquis and so many of our soldiers in body bags, namely the fact that Zarqawi and his training camp in northern Iraq was kept safe so that the US would have a reason to connect Saddam with Al Qaida. It is a disgusting matter of politiical expedience and hubris that has allowed so many to be killed in order to lie us all into a war that probably need not have been fought.

I recommmend that you read this piece and tell others to do so as well.

from the twilight zone of the Bush administration

The New York Times is reporting that the administration is afraid of releasing terror suspects from the Guantanimo Bay torture prison because... Wait for it.... they are afraid that the ex detainees won't be treated humanely by their home governments!

You can't make this up.

There are like 150 guys down there who have been wrongfully imprisoned, beaten, degraded, and mistreated by the US government but the reason that we won't release them is because we think their home countries migh just do what we did.

We need to get these ass munchers out of office STAT!

Ask and ye shall recieve..

Yep. It was a wish of mine since I my co-workers used to force me to listen to his show... What an asshole. Good luck staying off the scrips, chowderhead!

Who's got the mugshot!?

Rush Limbaugh Arrested on Prescription Drug Charges

With a headline like that who needs lede?

Drug addicted fraudsters are criminals just like republican congressmen and most of the white house staff.

More potshots at Rummy

Cause I just couldn't resist. I found this photo on an online site this morning and I thought it looked a bit familiar...

"I Fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."

"Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person! I blow my nose at you, so-called 'Rummy King,' you and all your silly military K-nig-hts!"

Truth in advertising

Leave it to Rummy to see progress where others may not. The Secratary of Defence shows that you shouldn't grumble when things don't go your way. Just make it look like you meant to do that...

Sounds so PeeWee Herman.

DaVinci Code Judjement in Code?

ABC News Has this whimsical story of the Honerable judge Peter Smith who has apparently included a code of his own in a copy of the judgement on file in the courts in London. See if you can spot the code in the italicised letters in the document.

For those of you who are interested you can find the PDF of the judgement here.

Look who's back in town...

WAPO has a nifty story Sure to get you in a jaunty mood.

Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald met with the grand jury Wednesday. Among other things he is investigating why Rove originally failed to disclose to prosecutors that he had talked to Time magazine reporter Matt Cooper about the outed CIA operative, Valerie Plame, back in 2003.

...

Wednesday's session is believed to be only the second time the prosecutor has met with the grand jury which is examining questions left unanswered in the Plame affair. The only other time Fitzgerald was seen going before the new panel was Dec. 7.

It's beginning to look a lot like Fitzmas.....

I'm The Decider

Best. Parody. Ever.

Flowers and Sweets, Anyone? | TPMCafe

Matt Yglesias at TPM Cafe has a must read about why we weren't and won't be greeted as liberators. That's a Spot-on bunch of reasoning. I wish I had thought to write it down like that...

Great little ditty from an email I received

I got this from my Stepmother. It's great and a bit scary...

Well, it took me awhile, but I finally realized what "I'm the decider" reminds me of : It sounds like something a character in a Dr. Seuss book might say.

So with apologies to the late Mr. Geisel, here is some idle speculation as to what else such a character might say:

I'm the decider.
I pick and I choose.
I pick among whats.
And choose among whos.

And as I decide
Each particular day
The things I decide on
All turn out that way.

I decided on Freedom
For all of Iraq.
And now that we have it,
I'm not looking back.

I decided on tax cuts
That just help the wealthy.
And Medicare changes
That aren't really healthy.

And parklands and wetlands
Who needs all that stuff?
I decided that none
Would be more than enough!

I decided that schools
All in all are the best
The less that they teach
And the more that they test.

I decided those wages
You need to get by
Are much better spent
On some CEO guy.

I decided your Wade
Which was versing your Roe
Is terribly awful
And just has to go.

I decided that levees
Are not really needed.
Now when hurricanes come
They can come unimpeded.

That old Constitution?
Well, I have decided
As"just goddam paper"
It should be derided.

I've decided gay marriage
Is icky and weird.
Above all other things,
It's the one to be feared.

And Cheney and Rummy
And Condi all know
That I'm the Decider -
They tell me it's so.

I'm the Decider
So watch what you say
Or I may decide
To have you whisked away.

Or I'll tap your phones.
Your e-mail I'll read.
`cause I'm the Decider -
Like Jesus decreed.

Yes, I'm the Decider
The finest alive
And I'm nuking Iran.
Now watch this drive!

The loss of a TRUE american hero

the AP Wire Service has the news of the passing of a legendary hero of mine. Scott Crossfield who once proved how indestructible he was by being blown up in the X-15 Rocket plane and managing only to wet his pants has died in a plane crash in Georgia. He was not exactly a household name out in the world but he was a hero of mine ever since I saw a documentary about the X-15 project hosted by Peter Jennings in the late 80s. I wish to express my condolences for his family, and to thank him for the inspiration he has given to me.

Farewell Scott!
